Steve Smith

Former CVP Intel

Steve Smith, BOD member, product strategy. Steve is a recognized semiconductor industry leader and former Intel Corp. Vice President who spent four plus decades shaping Intel’s enterprise, mobile, desktop, and memory platforms. A veteran executive known for solving complex customer challenges, Smith brought cross-functional engineering teams together “across the aisle” to deliver high-performance silicon while balancing critical trade-offs in power, performance, and cost for global data center and client customers of Intel.

Steve started his career at Hewlett-Packard before joining Intel in 1979 as a device physicist, and held pivotal leadership roles throughout Intel’s most defining technological eras. As General Manager of the Pentium Processor Division, and later Vice President and General Manager of the IA-64 Processor Division, he spearheaded Intel’s entry into 64-bit high-performance computing (HPC), leading early development of the flagship Itanium architecture. His executive tenure also includes serving as Director of the Pentium 4 Task Force, Vice President and General Manager of PC Client Operations, and Vice President and Director of Digital Enterprise Group Operations.
